After getting rained out right before the A-Main last weekend, Plymouth decided to have the 600s run double features the following weekend to make up for the rain out. Starting in the 16th position for the make up race, Goodwin was ready for the 20 lap A-Main. Green flag dropped and Goodwin was on the move towards the front. While making both lanes work, Goodwin was able to bring home a 5th place finish!
Now that the make up race was completed, Goodwin could focus on the regular night events. Starting 6th in the heat race, Garett didn’t waste any time and was able to finish 2nd. This finish allowed Goodwin to make the A-Main and have the chance to redraw for a better starting position for the A-Main. Garett drew a 5 putting him 5th for the start of the Main.
When the green flag dropped, Goodwin moved to 4th right away and had his eyes set on the leaders. Battling for 3rd, Goodwin fell back to 5th with 5 laps to go. Unable to make the bottom lane work, Goodwin was able to bring home another 5th place finish!
“I’m really happy with how our day went”, said Goodwin, “We were fast all day but just fell short at the end.”
