Racing Achievements

Garett Goodwin started his racing career when he was 7 years old. He started racing open wheeled go-karts. In 2002, he finished 7th place in the MRP Motorsports championship in the JR Sportsman class. In 2003, He finished 8th in the MRP Motorsports in the JR sportsman class. In 2004, He finished 6th in the championship at MRP Motorsports. In the 2005 season, Garett finished with 4 second place finishes and won the 2005 Most Improved JR driver and he finished 3rd in the points.


In 2006, He started racing a 1/2 scale stock car called a Super Cup car. The first race ever in a stock car Garett won by a nose on the first night out at Grundy County Speedway in Morris, Ill. He aslo had a win at Jackson Speedway in Jackson, Mi. Garett turned out to have at the end of the year, 3 first place finishes, and 5 seconds and 7 thirds. He also finished 4th place in the CSR SuperCup Series. In 2007, Turned out to be a great year for Garett. He had 16 wins out of 27 starts. 8 second place finishes, 1 third place finish, 2 fifth place finishes. At the end of 2007 season, Garett got his first championship at Grundy County Speedway. Garett also finished 3rd in points at the CSR supercup series. He also finished 2nd in points at the Burris Circle Tour.


Garett started his racing career in Legends Cars in 2008 and had a great year! Ended the season with 9 wins and a Championship. Ended the season at Grundy with a 7 win streak. Garett has back to back championships at Grundy County Speedway and hes trying to make it another championship to make it three in a row. The 2009 season for Garett turned out to be another terrific year for him and the #29 machine. Garett mainly raced at two to three tracks near his home town and was very successful with 8 wins and many finishes in the top 5 and top 10. Labor day weekend, Garett and the Hansen Motorsports crew took a journey out west to race a three day event in Nebraska, Wyoming, and Colorado. Garett ended the weekend winning the Rocky Mountain Classic weekend championship for the Young Lions class. With 2 overall championship titles, Grundy County Speedway Young Lions & Young Lions Michigan State Championship, and for finishing 5th in the nation in the Young Lions class out of 227 drivers for only racing 35 races instead of the 40 to 50 races the rest of the drivers have completed. Garett also finished 2nd in the Young Lions Raceceiver National Tour series being a race and 62 points away from the championship. For just being the 2nd year in the Legends circuit for the young Goodwin driver out of Three Oaks, Michigan.


The 2010 race season was a great year for Garett and his #29 Legends Car for his first year moving into the Pro Division. Garett's race season ended up to be limited due to health issues towards the middle of the season. His health didn't stop him from racing hard at every event he showed up too. Garett was able to pull two feature wins, 10 top fives, and 13 top ten finishes out of the 13 races he completed. He ended up finishing the 3rd place position in the Illiana Motor Speedway points standings. Garett and the crew have decided it's time to move up to the next level! Garett will be racing in the ASA Midwest Tour in the Truck division. Goodwin will also be driving a limited schedule in the Legends Car again for Hansen Motorsports.
