Garett and the Hansen crew showed up to Illiana Motor Speedway on July 17th for the ninth time this year. Garett and the #29 Legends Car was quick during practice as they made a few adjustments before qualifying. With the new adjustments, Garett ended up qualifying in the third position out of the 16 car field. Goodwin would start in the 6th position out of the eight car field in his heat race. Green flag dropped and Garett got shuffled back to 8th, where he was crusing around for a couple of laps until the field got spread out. When the checkered flag dropped, Garett was able to get back into the 6th position. Feature event came and that #29 Hansen Motorsports/K1 Race Gear Legend Car would be rolling off in the 6th position. Green flag waved over Illiana Speedway and that #29 car set sail to the front, however, two cars got tangled up causing Garett to lift off the throttle which made Goodwin drop back into the 11th position. With the feature event having it's first caution free race of the year, Garett ran out of time and was able to pull off a top 10 finish in the 8th position.
"The Hansen crew gave me a great car for the feature, but we just lost positions to the incident in the beginning of the race which sent me to the back, but oh well, thats racin", says Garett after the rough night at Illiana.
