GOODWIN SCORES FIRST TOP TEN OF THE SEASON
WISCONSIN DELLS, WI - July 11th, 2015 - Garett and the GGR team traveled over to the Dells Raceway Park for the Mid-Season Championship 50 for Garett's third race of the season. After a rough start in the first two races of the season, the team showed up with a positive attitude going into the Mid-Season Championship race. Garett's feedback during both practice sessions was that the car was tight in the center but after making a few adjustments, Garett was 5th on the charts in the scuff session.
Garett qualified 13th after battling a tight car. He started 3rd in the Odd Heat but fell back to 4th due to the inside line not moving forward but once Garett was clear, he took the outside line and was able to regain the 3rd spot back.
Starting 13th for the 50 lap feature, Garett knew he had a lot of ground to make up but had to conserve his tires for the long race. The green flag dropped and Garett was on the move. By lap 15, the first caution came out for a two car incident that happened directly in front of Garett. Avoiding a close call incident, Garett was able to bring home his first top ten of the season with a 6th place finish.
"Man, this is an awesome feeling. Yeah, we didn't get the win but the way things have been going for us, this sure feels like one", says Goodwin, "this team really deserves this as well as the credit for working their tails off to get us here."
