DELLS RECAPS: The car wasn't good right off the bat. The team was suffering handling issues all throughout practice. They ran that set up in qualifying because they didn't have enough time to do the changes that they wanted to do. Goodwin qualified 26th out of 40 drivers which put him in heat race #2. The crew made changes to their spring and shock package before the heat race. Garett started 6th in the heat and was battling on the outside for 4th the whole race but ended up 5th because the car loosened way up.
Garett rolled off in the 6th position out of a 21 car field. On lap 2, Garett got forced into the back stretch wall, moving the rear end over to far and knocking the toe out of alignment. He fell back to 9th before a caution came for a wreck on the front stretch. When the green flag came back out, Goodwin was able to limp the car home from 9th to 7th and just ran out of laps and tires. The team has made great improvement from the Madison race…time to keep moving forward!
