Opening night at Illiana sure was a long one! Garett qualified 11th after battling a tight car. He started 2nd in the heat race and battled the whole race for the lead, but the car tightened up and Garett fell to 3rd. The team took that momentum from the heat race and made some small adjustments to see if they could improve the car for the 30 lap feature event.
Garett took the green flag in the 10th position and was running consistent with the rest of the field until his throttle started to stick on acceleration which started to upset the handling of the car.
After coming down pit road to figure out the throttle issues, Garett battled all the incidents to bring home an 11th place finish.
