Peru, IN & Logansport, IN – This past weekend, Garett Goodwin and the #83 team took on
back-to-back nights of racing at Miami County Raceway and US 24 Speedway, showing grit
and determination along the way.
Friday Night – Miami County Raceway
On Friday in Peru, Indiana, Garett qualified 9th and lined up 7th for his heat race, finishing 6th.
That result meant he had to run the B Main, where he started 2nd. Goodwin battled hard and
held on for a 5th place finish, transferring him into the A Feature. Starting deep in the field in
17th, Garett pushed forward and drove up to a solid 12th-place finish by the checkered flag.
Saturday Night – US 24 Speedway
The team then traveled to Logansport, Indiana, for night two at US 24 Speedway. Garett
qualified 8th and started 8th in his heat race, finishing 5th. That finish was good enough to
lock him directly into the A Feature. Starting 9th, Goodwin ran strong until a mechanical issue
in the engine forced him to pull off with just 5 laps to go, ending the night in 18th place.
Weekend Recap
Despite the setback, the team was proud to make the A Feature both nights. Garett shared
his gratitude:
“We had a decent weekend overall and we’re thankful to everyone who helps make it happen.
A big thank you to Ed and Kayla, and the Three + Motorsports team for their support this
weekend. Another huge thanks to Brian at Teike Engines for all of his help and support. We’re
working with Teike Engines to get back on track in the next few weeks so we can finish the
season strong.
Thank you to our partners and supporters!
