The 2012 season was a huge step for the 18 year old Garett Goodwin from Three Oaks, Michigan. After a very short 2011 season in the Midwest Tour Trucks, Garett and the crew thought it was time for another change. Garett thought it was time to step up to the next level and race in the Super Late Model division at Illiana Motor Speedway. After having some great finishes and learning a lot throughout the season, Garett completed the season in 17th place out of 62 drivers in the championship standings while he had only competed in half the races due to funding.
While in the off-season, the team is preparing the car for the 2013 season. The goal for the new year is to run the entire season at Illiana Motor Speedway while Garett will be attending college at the University of Northwestern Ohio. Starting in July, Goodwin will be triple majoring in Automotive Technology, High-Performance Technology, and Diesel Technology all in the same year of trying to compete for the 2013 Illiana Super Late Models Championship. Garett and the GGR Crew are very excited to get the season started.
