GOODWIN READY TO RETURN FOR 2022 SEASON
February 2, 2022 – THREE OAKS, MICHIGAN – After having to take off the 2021 race season due to not having an engine for the car, Garett has his eyes set on returning to the driver’s seat for 2022. In October 2020, Garett’s race engine failed with 6 laps to go in the A Feature event at US 24 Speedway. The team had purchased an engine shortly after the engine fail and had it sent down to the engine builder. However, due to the circumstances of manufacturing shortages with engine parts during the pandemic, Teike Engines was not able to complete the build.
Taking a break from the driver’s seat, Goodwin was able to revaluate the team’s future and plans to make a return for the 2022 season. Thankfully, Teike Engines received the rest of the engine parts at the end of 2021 season. Now that the team is just over a month from their first race of 2022, Garett and the team are preparing everything for his return.
March 18th and 19th, Garett and the team will be making their season opener in DuQuoin, Illinois for the Midwest Winter Nationals at the Southern Illinois Center. Goodwin had a very successful run at the Nationals in 2020 with finishing 2nd both nights in the Outlaw Non-Wing A Feature event out of over 80 drivers. With previous success in the building, Garett is heading into this race with an optimistic look.
